Born in San Antonio, Texas, Matt Cochran later moved to Kansas City, where he spent most of his childhood and later attended the University of Kansas to earn his bachelors degree in Business Communications through the School of Journalism.

Matt began his career in business development and marketing at a local engineering firm. He eventually joined PERL because for the flexibility of working as both a mortgage banker and broker.
